Ruth Severns Lehman

Savannah, GA- Ruth Severns Lehman, 92, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
A native of Lima, Ohio, Ruth was born to Waldo Severns and Tillie Hefner Severns on March 27, 1921. She was educated at Bluffton College and Ohio Northern University after which she taught second grade in Lima, Ohio. In her early years she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Sunday school teacher. Ruth was a member of Speed Museum, a board member of Opera Guild formerly Friends of Kentucky Opera Filson Club, Pendennis Club, Crescent Hill Woman's Club, Louisville Woman's Club, and Highland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband of sixty nine years, Dr. Robert J. Lehman of Louisville and Savannah; three daughters and their husbands, Jennifer Lehman Turner and Jan L, Rebecca Lehman Perez and Celestino Tito, all of Savannah, and Celeste Lehman Smith and Eric of Hawaii; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas C. Lehman, DDS and Debora of Saulte St. Marie, MI; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her grandson, Howard Brent Turner.
The funeral service will be private.
